As a follow up to V4’s political declaration on “Responsibility for a Strong NATO” that outlined a Central European position on outstanding policy issues in the run up to the Chicago Summit, the Visegrad Group – currently under Czech presidency – recently published a report on practical ways to strengthen our defense capabilities and contributions to Alliance and EU capability development efforts.

The report titled "Towards a smarter V4: How to improve defense collaboration among the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia" has been prepared by a group of 12 researchers and experts from V4 countries. The document recommends practical areas for deepening existing defense cooperation in the short, medium and long term. The outcome is based on a half-year long survey of our nations´ military needs, strategic cultures, mutual relationships and past lessons in cooperation.
