Shaolin Sándor Liu, boyfriend of Great Britain’s Speed Skater Elise Christie, helped Hungary win our first ever Winter Olympic gold medal in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Shaolin’s younger brother, Shaoang Liu, Viktor Knoch and Csaba Burján made up the rest of the Hungarian short-track speed skating quartet.

Shaolin Sándor Liu crossed the finish line first on Thursday, February 22, as Hungary won gold medal in the men's 5000 m relay in short-track speed skating.

Shaolin’s younger brother, Shaoang Liu, Viktor Knoch and Csaba Burján made up the rest of the Hungarian short-track speed skating quartet as they won Hungary’s first ever gold, only the seventh medal for Hungary in Winter Olympics history and their first medal of any color in 38 years. Shaolin Sándor Liu and Shaoang Liu have a Hungarian mother and a Chinese father.

The Chinese quartet won the silver medal, Canada took the bronze medal, while the host, South Korea came fourth after their medal hopes were dashed when one of their team members fell.
