As the resident chamber orchestra at the University of Colorado in Boulder, the Takács Quartet premiered at the Embassy of Hungary with Dvorák's "American" String Quartet No. 12 on the 170th anniversary of the composer's birth.

First violinist Edward Dusinberre, Second Violinist Károly Schranz, Violist Geraldine Walther and Cellist András Fejér were presented by Ambassador Szapáry the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary for the outstanding and authentic performances of the music of Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály, the promotion of the art of Hungarian classical and folk music, as well as their performances as one of the most successful chamber orchestras in the world.
