A. Applying for a certificate of good conduct
1. Fill out both pages of the application form
2. Hand in your application in person at the diplomatic, or consular representation whose area of responsibility includes the state you live in. (see consular districts of Hungarian missions in the U.S).
3. If you send in your request by mail, you have to certify a.) your signature on the application form and b.) your identity before a public notary using this form and this data sheet if the public notary is not on this list, or by one of the Hungarian Honorary Consuls. Please pay fee by sending a money order made out to the name of the competent foreign mission of Hungary in the United States, and include a self-addressed and stamped envelope for certified mail in your application.
Generally, it will take about 2-3 months for you to receive the requested document(s).
