The New York Hungarian Scientific Society is accepting applications for the Albert Szent-Györgyi Young Investigator Award supporting original research by Hungarian scientists living in Hungary or in neighboring countries.

ELIGIBILITY: The application is open for graduate students working towards their PhD degree, or scientists with a PhD under the age of 35, in the fields of natural sciences, medical sciences, and mathematics.

AWARD: Total value of the awards: $11,000 USD. 
Winner (1): $3,000 USD. 
Finalists (2): 2x $1,500 USD
Gizella Solti Award: $5,000 USD, a special award established by Dr. Livia Solti-Bohman.

APPLICATION PROCESS: Applicants should submit the following: 
• one-page summary of their former research (maximum 300 words).
• short resume with a list of publications (maximum 600 words).
• short (maximum 5 minutes) youtube video explaining why the applicant should receive the award.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The winner and the finalists will be announced on December 14th, 2017, during the annual fundraising gala, organized at and supported by the Consulate General of Hungary in NY.
