Hungarian Americans TOGether (HATOG) VI Conference Report Published
HATOG VII Announced for Fall 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia

The sixth Hungarian Americans TOGether conference, the first to be held on the West Coast, followed the successful tradition of past HATOGs by attracting a diverse group of Hungarian Americans from across the US. The conference series, initiated by the Hungarian American Coalition several years ago, has succeeded in building an ever more active network of Hungarian Americans through enhanced communication and collaboration. By sharing best practices, the Hungarian-American organizations in the US are developing better strategies for preserving and strengthening our Hungarian heritage and culture.

The conference report provides a comprehensive account of the proceedings, with links to all presentations, showing the challenges facing our diverse community. The conference attracted more than 70 attendees, representing 29 organizations, 6 US states, and Hungary. The conference also provided a forum for participants to describe their activities, network, and socialize with each other. The report describes a vibrant community of Hungarian groups, whose members support each other from Southern California to Seattle Washington; tells about their programs and ambitious plans for the future; and shows how you can connect with and support these grass roots organizations.

The HATOG conference series began in Washington DC, has now reached California after successful conferences in Pennsylvania (Ligoneer), New Jersey (New Brunswick), Ohio (Cleveland), and Illinois (Chicago). The next conference meeting will be held in Atlanta, GA, in the fall of 2013.
