The Embassy of Hungary in Washington, DC offers its solidarity to all affected by the current natural disaster in the United States

Several people lost their lives, tens of thousands have been forced to leave their homes and about three hundred thousand inhabitants have been left without electricity in the wake of category 4 Hurricane Harvey that made landfall in Texas early morning on Saturday, 26 August.

Due to the ensuing floods, 62 counties are currently considered disaster-stricken areas. The city of Houston has been also gravely affected. The Embassy of Hungary in Washington, DC offers its condolences to the families of the victims and wishes the injured a swift recovery. The storm, which the National Weather Service has called unprecedented, is predicted to fade only by Wednesday.
