Prime Minister Viktor Orbán Offers Condolences Following New Year’s Eve Attack in Istanbul

In a letter of condolence to Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán conveyed his sympathies to the families of the victims of the New Year’s Eve terrorist attack in Istanbul and wished a speedy recovery to those who were injured.

In wake of the terrorist attack in Istanbul on New Year’s eve that left 39 dead and dozens more wounded, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expressed his deepest condolences to those affected by the atrocity and pledged to stand shoulder to shoulder with NATO ally Turkey in the fight against terrorism.

The Prime Minister wrote: “In Hungary, we greatly appreciate the fact that Turkey and the Turkish people are playing an active role in the fight against international terrorism. This inhuman attack reinforces my government’s commitment to act against terrorism and to support Turkey’s efforts.”
