PAST EVENT: First Day of the visit of Hungarian President Pál Schmitt to Washington, DC

Hungarian President of the Republic Pál Schmitt arrived in Washington, DC on a four day visit on Wednesday, November 30. He visited Washington, DC for the first time as President.

He presented the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary to Ambassador Kurt Volker, Managing Director of the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies Center for Transatlantic Relations for his significant achievements in strengthening and deepening Hungarian-American relations. The award presentation ceremony took place at the Residence of Ambassador György Szapáry during the dinner in honor of President Schmitt and Ambassador Volker.
