PAST EVENT: Central-Eastern European Network – 2nd Annual Trade Visit November 2012

The Central and Eastern European Network (CEENET) organized its 2nd annual trade visit on November 8-9 at the Stamford Marriott.

Representatives of businesses and governmental organizations from Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland and Slovakia attended the international conference and trade event and met with companies from Connecticut and representatives of Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development, the U.S. Commerce Department. Nearly 50 businesses, including 17 from Europe, participated in the two-day event where they discussed potential business opportunities.

Among others H.E. Marian Parjol, Consul General of Romania, Ms. Katalin Csorba, Head of Hungarian Economic Representatives in the US, Ms. Zsuzsanna Papanek, Hungarian Economic and Trade Commissioner, Mr. Gergely Horvath CEO of Hungarian State Holding Co. and Mr. Razvan Dumitrescu Romanian Economic Counselor held presentations in the conference panels and discussed the benefits of international trade between Connecticut and Eastern Europe.


According to Christopher Ball, Ph.D., president and chairman of CEENET and chairman of international economics at Quinnipiac University, „Central and Eastern Europe is a great place to branch into Europe and Asia,” and their goal was to provide further international trade, investment and business opportunities between Connecticut and Central and Eastern Europe by organising this event as well.
